Nestled in the heart of the Slovenian Alps, Mojstrana is more than just a charming mountain village – it's a place with a remarkable sporting legacy. Known as the Village of Olympians, Mojstrana has proudly seen 21 of its locals compete in the Winter Olympics since 1928. Among them are celebrated skiers Jure Košir and Alenka Dovžan, who brought home Olympic medals in 1994 – both of whom trained on the very slopes you'll find here.
Today, Mojstrana offers a welcoming and beautifully maintained family ski resort, ideal for all generations. The terrain is mostly easy and perfect for beginners or those seeking a relaxed ski day, with a short section offering intermediate-level challenges for those who want a bit more thrill.
At the base of the slope, you'll find a cozy spot to warm up and treat yourself – whether it's a hot meal, a warm drink, or one of the delicious local desserts, you're in for a comforting après-ski experience.
For those looking to explore more, the renowned ski resort of Kranjska Gora is just 13 km away, making Mojstrana a perfect starting point for broader alpine adventures. You can also hire local ski instructors right in the village – skilled professionals who continue Mojstrana’s proud skiing tradition.
Whether you're here to follow in the footsteps of Olympic athletes or simply enjoy a peaceful day on the snow with your family, Mojstrana promises an authentic and unforgettable winter escape.
You park at the Mojstrana parking lot and pay for your ski passes and get on the ski lift with anchors. You ski in the direction of descent along the right, which is flatter, or the left, which ends with a steep slope.
