Mojstrana field, so picturesque and full of history that you definitely can't miss it. On Mojstrana field, you will see the Church of St. Clement as one of the most beautiful and well-known buildings.
The Church of St. Clement is located on the right side of the road just before Mojstrana. Legend has it that the church was built on the spot where the brothers St. Cyril and Methodius spent the night in 868 when they were carrying the relics of Pope Clement I to Rome. St. Cyril found them in 860 in Crimea. The church is actually a branch, first mentioned in 1689, and belongs to the Dovje parish.
There are also a few older but traditional haystacks, on the northern side of the field, and right near the village there is the very famous and oldest preserved Špan house, and a little further on there is the house where the Gostilna pri Šmercu was located.
The house was a famous tourist inn, famous for its reputation, hospitality and good service. One of the most famous guests of the inn was Julius Kugy, and other notables from Austria, Germany and Italy also visited it.
The beautiful frescoes of St. Florian, Mary of Višarje and Michael give the house a special charm and value. The frescoes marked the inns with overnight stays that led along the pilgrimage route along the Upper Sava Valley to St. Višarje.
Of course, we cannot pass by our Sava Dolinka river, which borders the field on one side, and on the other side is the road and the very famous smaller Mojstrana ski area. When you run, you will see the very picturesque Stenar mountain on the other side, which rises majestically above Vrata valley.
In Mojstrana, on the opposite side of the ski resort, there is a running track. The track is mostly flat and therefore accessible to a wider range of runners. Our running track goes along the edges of the field.
The ski resort manager arranges the running track with a treadmill. The track allows for skating and classic running techniques.
Most often it is arranged in such a way that a longer and shorter circuit is created, but sometimes there is an additional passage for an even shorter circuit. There are no crowds on the track, so you can run to your heart's content.
The running circuit is approximately 1800 m long. The tracks are made, of course, when the snow is thick enough and are currently free.
You can park in the parking lot by the ski slope or other marked parking lots in the village, which are also paid.
The start of the running circuit is at the parking lot at the Mojstrana Ski Resort. Follow the running track along the main road in the direction of the church of St. Michael all the way to the end of the field, where you turn towards the Sava River and continue along the right side of the field towards the village all the way to the first houses, where the track turns back towards the starting point.
