









Explore the three glacier valleys leading from Mojstrana into the Triglav National Park: Vrata Valley, renowned for its stunning natural attractions; Kot Valley, known for its solitude; and Krma Valley, which offers rich cultural heritage, including the historic Pocar Homestead (Pocarjeva domačija).
This homestead is 350 years old an is renovated into an Ethnological Museum, managed by the Triglav National Park. The name of homestead “Pr Potzer” was firstly mentioned in the retained document in 1672. it is a prime example of Alpine architecture and a cultural monument of state importance. The homestead features a traditional economic area, a nearby fountain, and a fresco of St. Mary from Lussario on the front, which is also found on some houses in Mojstrana as well as on Psnak Homestead in Radovna.
Krma Valley is famous for its alpine meadows, which continue the tradition of cattle grazing at Zasipska mountain and Zgornja Radovna mountain, reaching up to the Pastirska hut (1760 m) where shepherds reign in July and August. The valley also provides the easiest access to Slovenia's highest peak, Triglav, surrounded by the steep walls of Tošc, Draska Peaks, and Debela Peč. The end of the valley is the starting point for the approach to Triglav.
We can stop for drinks and food in Kovinarska koča 870m, while returning back in the summer season. In Zgornja Radovna above homestead Gogala is the most beautiful natural attraction Gogalova linden tree. It has been estimated being more than 800 years old.
During the summer season, you can stop for refreshments at Kovinarska Koča (870 m). In Zgornja Radovna, near Homestead Gogala, you'll find the Gogalova Linden Tree, a natural wonder estimated to be over 800 years old. Standing nearly 24 meters high with a trunk diameter of over two meters. it is a symbol of the independent Slovenian Republic. A leave from the tree has been the first touristic symbol of the independent Republic of Slovenia. Underneath is a bench in the lovely shadow and the info table, but you have to act appropriate because this is private property.
Next, visit Psnakova Domačija, which offers delicious meals and traditional Sunday lunches. This site was once part of the old pilgrimage path of Lussario, leading through Radovna Valley to Holy Monte Lussario (1766 m) in Italy.
The story of Alojz Lipavec, who managed mountain huts and used horses for transport in the 1960s, is notable. That was hard work, since he had to wake up early in the morning to prepare 5-6 horses, carrying 100 or even more heavy loads, 80 times per season. His work was continued by his son Janko until 1995. Alojz was also a beekeeper just like his father. A few steps further stands renovated beehive with 17 hives, with uniquely painted extensions by Anton Kovač from Gozd Martuljek, to make beehive more intriguing. Kovač painted all of the 40 extensions telling us about life in Good Martuljek.
Conclude your journey with an 18% ascent up Kosmačev Preval, followed by a pleasant descent back into Mojstrana village.

Start the trip in front of the Slovenian Alpine Museum in the direction in Vrata valley. Turn left before the ascent, crossing the green bridge over the Triglavska Bistrica river. Continue up the hill through the plain in Mlačca, past the tennis courts, and ascend to the intersection with the main road. Follow the main road to Kosmačev Preval, the highest point of your trip. From here, descend and turn right towards Krma Valley but be careful as it is very steep.
The road then curves, and you will cycle about 300 meters to the next intersection. Turn right onto the macadam road leading further into Krma Valley, with beautiful views of Debela Peč and Veliki Draški Vrh. This path will connect with the main road leading into Krma Valley. At the intersection, turn right where the plain begins. Kovinarska Koča, open during the summer season, will be on your left. Continue along the road until you reach a spot with a sink with steep water and a bench, where you can stop for a rest and refreshments.
Return along the same route until you reach Mojstrana. Turn left, and you will see Pocarjeva Domačija on your right, which you can visit during the open season. Continue to the next intersection and turn left onto the asphalt road. Follow this road for 1.5 km, and at the next intersection, turn left following the direction signs for Gogalova Lipa.
Continue on this road until you enter the forest, where you will have a view of the homestead and the tree. Proceed past another homestead and then right past Psnakova Domačija. Climb the hill leading to Kosmačev Preval, which is steep. Descend carefully and return to Mojstrana. Turn left, pass the tennis courts, cross the green bridge, and return to your starting point at the Slovenian Alpine Museum.
