In Gozd Martuljek, near Hotel and Camp Špik, lies the wild Hvadnik Gorge with a thrilling via ferrata running through it. This adventure offers stunning views: one side reveals the majestic Martuljek peaks, while the other side showcases the rugged gorge we climb through. This via ferrata is an ideal choice for a summer cooldown.

From the parking lot, follow the street until you reach an intersection. Signs will direct you to the right. Continue to the next intersection, where you'll find a via ferrata sign in front of the bridge over the Hvadnik stream. If you haven't put on your gear yet, this is a good place to do so. Proceed along a short forest path that quickly leads you to the first cable section.

Start from the parking lot and follow the signs until you reach a crossroads. Turn left and continue following the signs. Just before the bridge, the direction sign for the via ferrata will guide you onto a path through the woods. This is the ideal spot to put on your gear if you haven’t already done so. The short hike will lead you to the first rock wall where the via ferrata begins.

At the top of the via ferrata, you’ll find a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Martuljek Group. Enjoy the view from a bench at the edge of the viewpoint. From there, ascend slightly, then descend to the left after about 30 meters. You’ll reach a small plateau and follow the well-trodden path westward. The path then descends steeply. Look for direction signs towards Gozd Martuljek. Along the way, you’ll pass another viewpoint that is part of the Jerm’n via ferrata. The path eventually leads to the road. Turn left and follow the road for 100 meters, then turn left again and cross the bridge back to the parking lot.

The entry point immediately takes you a little higher off the ground. As you navigate the section marked with difficulty A, you'll gradually approach the first bridge. Cross the bridge to the left, where the staples will assist you, as the via ferrata occasionally hangs out. Continue along the left side for some distance before crossing to the right and then immediately back to the left.

This leads you into the section of the via ferrata that alternates between difficulties B and C. On the left, you'll encounter a monolithic wall. The via ferrata wraps around a corner where you’ll find many spikes. After this bend, proceed along the wall, crossing from bracket to bracket with a stream in between. You'll need to stretch your legs for the various athletic moves required.

There’s a short section to the right before quickly moving back to the left. Cross another bridge to the right, then follow the slippery wall to yet another bridge. This brings you into the easier A-rated section and, as you climb above the gorge, you’ll gradually reach the viewpoint of the Martuljek Group.
