Above the beautiful Triglav’s village called Mojstrana, lies a rocky hill of Grančišče. Two attractive via ferratas are leading to the top of Grančišče; one is easier and the other is a little bit more challenging. Both share the advantage of a short access route, as they are located in close proximity to the Slovenian Alpine Museum. Both ferratas lead to the summit of Grančišče, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views.

Aljaževa pot: The comprehensive view of the ferrata can be seen from the Slovenian Alpine Museum, where parking is available. From there, walk about 100 meters to reach the entrance of the ferrata. Note that crossing the pasture directly in front of the ferrata is not permitted.

The return route to the starting point passes through the woods, providing a pleasant and relaxing walk.

Pot mojstranških veveric: This ferrata is suitable for those familiar with rocky terrain and with some climbing experience. It requires both skill and physical strength.

The access, parking, coordinates, and descent are the same as for the Aljaževa Pot.

Aljaževa Pot is the easier of the two via ferratas and is suitable for beginners. Its name honors Jakob Aljaž, the priest who was responsible for the construction of the Aljažev Stolp on the summit of Triglav (2864 m). Positioned on the left side of the wall, it still traverses some more challenging sections of the ferrata. The route includes two particularly difficult transitions and passes through heavier sections four times. In between, there is a hiking path. Caution is advised due to the risk of falling stones.

Pot Mojstranških Veveric is more challenging and involves vertical climbing. Named by a group of climbers and mountaineers from Mojstrana—Zvone Kofler, Janko Ažman, Klavdij Mlekuž, and Janez Brojan—this via ferrata reflects their elite status as alpinists in the 1960s in what was then Yugoslavia and beyond. It is situated to the right of Aljaževa Pot. The first section (C) leads to a rock hole, then over a drag, crosses, and ascends. The second section (C/D) intersects with Aljaževa Pot, continuing rightward along the side, also rated C. The final section climbs over a pillar to reach the summit, where the Aljažev Stolp awaits.
